SmartWEB in - room Internet system provides cost effective, reliable and profitable Internet service to the guests. SmartWEB Internet Access Sever Engine enables guests to connect from guest rooms, conference rooms or lobby to Internet using wired or wireless connections.

Security
• Provides highly secured firewall access by using dual homed server

Seamless guest connection experience
• Dynamic IP address translation and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) provides guest with transparent network connectivity. This resolves IP issues and reduces technical support cost.
• Allows guest to connect from Guest Room and conference room or any node in the hotel provided the network link is available using Ethernet, Wireless etc

Bandwidth Management
• Can configure separate bandwidth setting for upstream and downstream communication to restrict bandwidth
• Charges can be configured based on volume (kilobytes)

Flexible charging methods
• By Duration Hourly, Daily, Monthly and Yearly charges
• By combining Duration and Volume (kilobytes)
• Network / Location based charges. For example - charges for connections used from the Lobby could be charged at a rate different from the charge applicable to guests connecting from their room.
• Multiple connection or Single connection charging - In a room one or more guest can use the Internet with single charge or each guest can be made to charge for each connection

PMS Link
• Can be connected to a number of approved PMS systems namely WISH Front Office, Opera, Fidelio, IDS etc.
• PMS link provides facility to post charges directly to the guest folio.
• Provides automatic check in, check out and room transfer features.

Access control
• When guest launches the browser, the guest will be redirected to an authorization screen. Based on the Network / Location configuration the charges and the web page layout can be changed. Also provides additional security by not allowing guest to browse the internet till the guest is authenticated
• Guest can be given User ID and Password or on more sophisticated network switch, guest can be authenticated automatically using Virtual LAN feature.

In - House Guest Features
• Generate multiple User ID and Password for a room
• Dynamically generated password for guest access when doing check in/out
• In - house guests are redirected to default portal page after authorization
• View Bill - Guest can view their bill on the laptop. (WISH Front Office PMS Only)
• Guest can change password after login

Walk in Guest features
• Generate User ID and Password with fixed time
• Walk In guests are redirected to browser home page after authorization
• Unlimited User IDs

CONFIGURATION REQUIREMENTSSmartWEB is deployed over a Ethernet network, the network could either be wired or wireless. The network design would depend on the property.

The network is connected to the Internet via a router.

SmartWEB software is installed on a Server. The server is typically a high end PC running Windows 2003 Server Operating System, with ISA Server 2004.

One Roll printer is required for generating User ID and Password.
